The new resolution repealed Administrative Resolution No. (51) of 2020, under which the centre determines claims that do not exceed (AED 200,000) two hundred thousand dirhams.
Resolution 8 of 2022 determines claims that do not exceed (AED 500,000) five hundred thousand dirhams, with the exception of substantive disputes in which one of the parties is a private financial institution subject to the provisions of Federal Law by Decree No. (14) of 2018.
Article 1 of Resolution 8 of 2022 lists the disputes under the Centre Jurisdiction as the following:
Subject to the provisions of Article (5) of the aforementioned Law No. (18) of 2021, the Centre for Amicable Settlement of Disputes shall be competent to consider and decide on the following disputes:
- Common Money Division
- Disputes in which the value of the claim does not exceed (AED 500,000) five hundred thousand dirhams, with the exception of substantive disputes in which one of the parties is a private financial institution subject to the provisions of the aforementioned Federal Law by Decree No. (14) of 2018.
- Requests to approve amicable settlement and agreements of whatever value.
- Disputes whose parties agree to be heard by the Centre.
- Single requests to appoint expert before the Court of First Instance
The resolution came into force on February 24, 2022
