Two years ago, Saudi Arabia promulgated the Law of Execution before the Board of Grievances. The Law entrusted the Administrative Judicial Council in the Kingdom to determine the enforcement date of the Law; i.e. the date on which the provisions of the Law become applicable.

The Law of Execution before the Board of Grievances (promulgated pursuant to Royal Decree No. (D/15) of 1443 A.H.), governs/regulates the all the enforcement procedures, disputes, and claims, as well as offences and penalties related to it.

The Law was issued in September 2021, however it was not enforced despite its publication in Um Al Qura (official gazette in Saudi Arabia).

The Board of Grievances has now set the enforcement date of this Law on: 4/2/1445 A.H. (corresponding to 20 August 2023 AD).

Quick reminders:

  • The Board of Grievances is the Kingdom’s Administrative Court. It comprises of courts of three degrees (First Instance, Appeal, and Supreme Court).
  • The Board of Grievances specializes in examining and ruling upon administrative cases (in which the Administration/Government entities are part of).
