New Grievance System for Companies with 50+ workers in Oman

/
Content updates

Oman's Ministry of Labour has introduced Resolution  No. (617) of 2024, mandating employers with 50 or more workers to establish a formal grievance process. This system allows workers to submit complaints about employer decisions for internal resolution, encouraging workplace-level issue resolution before involving the Labour Ministry.

The procedure requires workers to first approach their direct manager, who must respond within two days. If unresolved, the issue can be escalated to the employer, who has five days to respond. If there is still no response, the grievance can be taken to the Ministry of Labour. Employers must provide workers with an approved copy of this system.
